JETpak Downtown

Opened in 2005, the JETpak Downtown was declared the world's best hostel in 2006 by hostelworld.com, and it certainly deserves this accolade. Despite - or because of - its location in Wilmersdorf's Pariser Straße, well away from the "trendy" zones in Prenzlauer Berg and Mitte it has become a popular meeting point for travelers and young Berlin visitors. (But don't worry - the Pariser Straße is right in the middle of a nice area of western Berlin's city centre a short hop from the Ku'damm andZoo Station, and there's plenty going on.

The JETpak is not only squeaky clean but also offers free broadband internet and wireless (WLAN) access for its guests and even an iPod stereo system for rental. It's 100% smoke free, but doesn't have kitchen facilities.

Note: you will often see the address written as Pariserstrasse or Pariserstraße; the correct version is in fact "Pariser Straße".
