Jungfernbrücke

Jungfernbrücke in Berlin The Jungfernbrücke is Berlin's oldest remaining bridge, dating from 1798. It spans the smaller side arm of the Spree on the south side of the Spree-Island (Spreeinsel)

The first bridge on this site was constructed in 1701 as a simple wooden structure. With increasing river traffic on the Spree, a bridge with greater clearance was needed, resulting in the construction of the current structure as a drawbridge.
