Wilmersdorfer Arcaden

The Wilmersdorfer Arcaden is a new shopping centre in the Wilmersdorfer Straße in Charlottenburg (and not Wilmersdorf!). It opened on Wednesday, September 26th 2007.

The main feature of the Arcaden is the gallery, which runs in an arc from one entrance to the other somewhat further down the street. It also features a 2.1 metres tall aluminium figure of a woman (!) laden down with shopping bags on the roof, who trundles back and forth along a 30m track every half-hour. Otherwise there are around 100 shops, but nothing you wouldn't find in one of Berlin's many other shopping malls.

Closest U-Bahn stations are Wilmersdorfer Straße (U7) and Bismarkstraße (U2, U7). Closest S-Bahn station is Charlottenburg.
