The Village Voice is a small, literature-oriented café / bookstore nearRosenthaler Platz just off the Torstraße. It has a small selection of English books with the emphasis mainly on literary works by the classical modernists such as Fitzgerald, Hemingway, Burroughs, Capote et al., plus the the postmodernist big names such Auster, Boyle etc., However, it is better known for its literary events, performances and regular open-mic nights. They do also stock their namesake newspaper, New York's bi-weekly "Village Voice".
