![]() S-Bahn station wall sign ![]() S-Bahn platform Unter den Linden is an S-Bahn station located on the western end of Unter den Linden near Pariser Platz. It is an underground station with a single island platform. Convenient forPariser Platz, Brandenburg Gate, French Embassy. HistoryUnter den Linden station was opened on May 28, 1936 as the southern terminal of the first section of the north-south S-Bahn tunnel from Humboldthain, which was opened on the same day. Between 1961 and 1989 it was a so-called ghost station: as only West Berlin trains were able to use the tunnel, the station was closed and sealed off. It was reopened in 1990.
