Hotel Adlon
Hotel Adlon Kempinski Berlin
HistoryThe original Hotel Adlon was opened in 1907 and swiftly became one of Berlin's top addresses. It survived the Second World War largely intact, but burnt down shortly after the occupation of Berlin by the Soviet army. Only one part of the building survived, but was demolished in 1984. Following the building of the Berlin Wall, its site was located just inside the prohibited zone and remained empty until the fall of the Wall. The Hotel Adlon was rebuilt between 1995 and 1997 largely in the same style as the original building, although two extra storeys have been squeezed in. Hotel Adlon
