Tempelhof Park

Tempelhof Park (German: Tempelhofer Park) is Berlin's newest and, at over 300 hectars in size, largest park (larger than even the Tiergarten), occupying the site of the former Tempelhof Airport. Opened on May 8th 2010, almost two years after the airport's closure, currently it is not much changed from its former role as Tempelhof's airfield and consists mainly of a vast expanse of grass and the remains of the airport's runways. However, it has become a popular location for attractions and events of all kinds, often in conjunction with the old airport buildings, and will become the site of the international garden festival IGA 2017.

Future Developments

Apart from IGA 2017, sections of the park mainly around the edges will be sold off for redevelopment.
