Viewed from the Ebertstraße The Canadian Embassy is located in a purpose-built building on Leipziger Platz. Opened in 2005, it is a six storey building situated on a 2,500 m² plot between Leipziger Platz, Ebertstraße and Voßstraße. The facade uses polished limestone from Canada, but otherwise the building is not particularly different from those surrounding it. Its most characteristic feature is only visible from the interior courtyard: the "Timber Hall", a tubular structure built using typical Canadian construction methods which is several storeys high.

Unusually in these parananoid times, the embassy building has a public passageway running through it with shops and cafes. It also serves as an information centre for promoting Canada.
