If you've spent any length of time in Berlin you'll have noticed that the same bakery chains such as Kamps, Weidemann and co. are everywhere. They're usually OK and good value for money, but the cakes and buns are mass produced, and quite often the service is too.
You don't have to go too far to find independent bakeries with tasty, home-made products though. Sowohlalsauch in Prenzlauer Berg is one such place. Located in Prenzlauer Berg's Gleimstraße, it has a wide variety of bread and cakes to eat in with a cup of coffee or take out.
If it's a nice day, take your food down the street to Falkplatz, a green and leafy city square bordering theWall Park (Mauerpark) - a nice place to take a break from the somewhat crowded Prenzlauer Berg.
